Long-lasting Results

Biostimulators deliver long-lasting results by stimulating your body’s own collagen production, which continues to enhance skin texture and firmness over time. This natural regeneration of collagen and elastin ensures enduring improvements that persist well beyond the initial treatment, promoting a sustained, renewed appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are biostimulator injections?

Although it is often grouped with other dermal filler products, Biostimulators are unique because they are not injected to “fill” skin depressions but to trigger type 1 collagen production, considered the best for the skin. Biostimulators are a Collagen Induction procedure used to stimulate collagen production in your skin. The new collagen growth then helps to restore facial volume loss, tighten loose skin and improve its elasticity, reduce acne scarring, create natural fullness, smooth out wrinkles and nasolabial folds, provide hands rejuvenation, and lift sagging skin over time.

At Bryght, we offer two premium TGA-approved brands of Biostimulators in our Sydney clinic. The appropriate selection of the type of biostimulator to use is essential for the desired outcome. It is determined by the patient’s needs.

How long do collagen-stimulating injections last?

With Biostimulator injections, your new look may last up to two years. The long-lasting benefits of collagen growth will continue to be seen over time. As the body absorbs the product, it also builds its own new collagen to boost the skin naturally

How soon will I see the results?

Collagen stimulation will occur over the six weeks following each treatment, causing the results to develop gradually and naturally. While every patient is different, the effects of Biostimulator injections will last up to two years on average.

There are many protocols; some approaches require three Biostimulator injections sessions over three to four months to allow time for new collagen to be produced, followed by an annual session. Our practitioners at Bryght will assess your skin and explain in detail which protocol best suits your concerns and your skin’s needs.

Are biostimulator fillers safe?

Biostimulators are an advanced cosmetic injectable procedure that should only be performed by an experienced and fully qualified medical practitioner (Registered Nurse or Medical Doctor) to ensure good results and treatment satisfaction. Unlike HA dermal fillers, Biostimulators cannot be dissolved, and although rare, cases of infection and vascular occlusion have been reported.

The primary components of the Biostimulators available at Bryght are Calcium Hydroxylapatite and Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). They are biocompatible – safe for use within the body.

PLLA has been used for over 50 years to manufacture dissolving sutures and medical implants and has been used cosmetically as a facial injectable since 2008. The body metabolises PLLA into lactic acid, which is already natural in your body.

Calcium hydroxylapatite is highly biocompatible with human tissue and one of the most well-studied dermal fillers worldwide for many areas of facial soft tissue augmentation. It is associated with a high and well-established safety profile. In addition, calcium hydroxylapatite combines high elasticity and viscosity with the ability to induce long-term collagen formation, making it an ideal agent for a global facial approach.

This means that Biostimulators are safe and as close to natural as any filler substance used for cosmetic enhancements.

Biostimulator injections vs Dermal Fillers (HA)?

Both HA dermal filler and collagen biostimulators deliver significant benefits to your skin. They are best used together for optimum results. HA fillers are short-term: their effects are instantaneous but can wear off in months. For lip shaping, fine line filling, and under-eye circles, HA dermal fillers are the optimal choice because they offer a more targeted, predictable approach and can be reversed.

Biostimulators are more gradual and long-lasting, which boost collagen growth to improve your skin’s longer-term texture, elasticity, tone and overall health. The collagen induction helps restore natural-looking structure and support more significantly sunken areas, crepey loose skin, and contouring of irregularities in the body. However, they require advanced skills and knowledge on the part of the injector and cannot be dissolved.

Can Biostimulator injections be dissolved?

Unlike Dermal Fillers, which can be dissolved, Biostimulator Injections cannot be dissolved or reversed. Your body will naturally absorb the Biostimulator over a period of about six months.

How much do collagen stimulating injections cost?

The price of collagen stimulating injections starts from $950 for 1 vial/syringe. A personalised consultation is required for the practitioner to assess your skin needs, facial features, concerns properly.

What are the side effects for collagen stimulating injections?

Since Biostimulator injections are a minimally invasive procedure, patients can resume most activities the same day as the procedure. Tenderness, redness, or bruising can occur on the treated areas but will diminish within a week or two. Nodules and lumps can form in the weeks following the procedure. However, this can be avoided with the regular massage protocol as instructed by your Bryght practitioner

What is collagen?

Collagen is a protein that forms one of the main structural components of the bodys skin, bones, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Its fibre-like structure helps make connective tissue strong, flexible, and able to withstand stretching. In the skin, collagen provides support and helps maintain firmness and elasticity. The body naturally produces collagen, but this production gradually declines with age. From around the mid-20s, collagen production slows, and from the early 30s, about 1% less collagen is produced each year. Various factors such as sun exposure, smoking, high alcohol intake, lack of sleep, and certain environmental factors may also contribute to the breakdown of collagen in the skin

What are collagen treatments?

Some procedures aim to support the skins natural collagen production processes. These treatments do not add volume directly but aim to stimulate the bodys own collagen response. This may help with concerns such as skin firmness, elasticity, and overall texture. The approach taken depends on individual circumstances and is determined during a consultation with a qualified practitioner.

How long do collagen treatments last?

The duration of results may vary. The effects depend on individual factors such as skin condition, age, lifestyle, and the specific approach taken. Expected outcomes and timeframes are best discussed during a personalised consultation.

How soon will results be visible?

Individual responses vary. Timeframes for visible changes depend on the bodys natural collagen production and other factors. Practitioners can provide more information about what to expect during a consultation.

Are collagen treatments safe?

Treatments that aim to stimulate collagen production should be carried out by a suitably qualified health professional. Any potential risks, limitations, or considerations will be discussed with you beforehand. A consultation is recommended to understand possible side effects and whether this approach is appropriate for you.

What are possible side effects?

As with any cosmetic procedure, temporary effects such as tenderness, redness, or bruising may occur. A practitioner will provide detailed information about possible side effects and aftercare during your visit.

How much do collagen treatments cost?

Cost information and treatment planning require a personalised consultation.

How do collagen treatments differ from other volume replacement options?

Various approaches can be used to address skin volume and texture. Some procedures aim to provide immediate volume, while others focus on supporting the skins natural processes over time. The suitability of each option depends on individual factors and should be discussed with a qualified practitioner.
